What Are Alt Codes?

Learning how to enter alt codes into Windows can be very beneficial. Alt codes are basically a way to type characters that are not dedicated key on your keyboard. Think of something like the capital omega symbol “Ω” or a check mark symbol “✓”. Obviously these keys will not be found on a standard keyboard layout but they can still be typed by utilizing alt codes. 

How To Enter Alt Codes

Alt codes are very simple to enter. To enter them simply hold down the “Alt” key and type in your desired code. For example if you wish to enter the code for the capital omega symbol you should hold down the “Alt” key and type “234” then let off the “Alt” key and that’s it!
